| We have been the contractor of choice for many of the UK's premier skateparks. Concrete is the preferred medium for skatepark construction but requires exceptional skill in its implementation, from the initial groundwork preparation all the way through to final finishing of the surface. It's fair to say that the quality of the concrete can make or break a skate park. Our reputation for excellence on these most demanding of projects reflects the experience and expertise that we are able to bring to them. We have constructed some 15 skate parks around the UK to date, including flagship projects such as Cantelowes in Camden (top left) where, in addition to extremely complex formwork, we performed all ancillary works including pathways, drainage, landscaping and construction of the pavilion. Whites Grounds skate park, at London Bridge (top right), is quite unique - a fully featured skate park built under the cobbled 19th-century railway arches of London Bridge. This project presented many logistical and engineering challenges. Height restrictions and limited access to the site called for meticulous planning and site organisation. | |||

We specialise in deep drainage and pump chamber installations, and
complex soakway systems designed to drain mass areas
where there is no existing pipe infrastructure in place. This is a
common situation with many skate park installations, which are
usually isolated with no connection to any nearby pipes. We had to
create a complex drainage system for both the bowl and
Pavilion at the Cantelowes park in Camden, which required the installation of
pumping facilities.
In addition to these kind of groundworks we also undertake ancillary work that can include installation of ducting, lighting, CCTV, pathways and access roads, as well as bringing water and gas services on to a site.

Another recent prestige project was 'The Trees' in Somerset, winner
of the Grand Designs New Build of the Year Award 2008. This
technically accomplished structure was based around a superstructure
that was built off-site and installed in one movement. Midas
Construction provided all groundworks and foundations for this
project where, because of the nature of the installation, precision
and accuracy were critical to its overall success.
